If the doors of perception were cleansed, everything would appear to man as it is, Infinite. For man has closed himself up, till he sees all things through narrow gaps in his cavern. – William Blake

Our lives are truly a wonder. The light of the universe animates our spirits with luscious radiance. We only need to see clearly through the red dust, as the ancient Chinese saying goes. Imagine the hustle and bustle of daily life raising clouds of dust that obscure everything beyond the most immediate. These things, although necessary, keep us from seeing past the mundane into the infinite.

There are dark things we each carry with us. Melancholy shadows of past misdeeds, regrets, and afflictions stain our souls. These miseries fester in our guts and weaken our resolve. We can feel as if no one would understand why we did this or that, or why we continue to bear this corrosive misery. Lay down those burdens of the past. Clear away that grievous debris from the celestial threshold. Forgive yourself. Begin to heal.

Modern life can entangle our thoughts with a multitude of impediments disguised as amusements. In no time at all the snarled nets have snared your perceptions. Extricating oneself from these decoys of reality takes determination and time. To quote the poet Carl Sandburg: Time is the coin of your life. It is the only coin you have, and only you can determine how to spend it. Be careful lest other people spend it for you. Step out from the madding caverns and through the doors of perception into the light.

Liberate your spirit. See the world around you clearly. Open yourself to the miracle of YOU. No matter the past; and no matter your station in life – You are remarkable. You are the light of the Universe.
